Are Your Outdoor Outlet Safe?

Correct selection of outdoor sockets

There are 7 levels of solid protection level, which are represented by 0-6 respectively; there are 9 levels of liquid protection level, which are represented by 0-8. 

The first number represented the Dust Level 

0: no protection

1: Prevent the intrusion of large solids 

2: Prevent the intrusion of medium-sized solids 

3: Prevent small solids from entering and intruding 

4: Prevent solid objects larger than 1mm from entering

5: Prevent the accumulation of harmful dust 

6: completely prevent dust from entering 

The second number represented the Waterproof Level 

0: no protection 

1: Water droplets will not affect the shell 

2: When the shell is tilted to 15 degrees, the water droplets into the shell have no effect 

3: Water or rain has no effect on the shell from the 60 degree corner

4: The liquid is splashed into the shell from any direction without harm

5: Rinse with water without any harm

6: Can be used in the cabin environment 

7: Can be resistant to immersion in a short time (1m) 

8: The socket can be used normally after being immersed in water for a long time under certain pressure 

Be aware of potential dangers 

If scratches are found on the surface of the socket, abrasion can cause serious problems on the surface. You should immediately turn off the power and stop using it. Do not install outdoor sockets in places with dense trees, sidewalks and other places that people can easily reach to avoid the risk of electric shock. 

Avoid installing the socket in a humid place

You should install outdoor sockets in damp places, like fountains, swimming pools, fish ponds and other places. The socket needs to be installed as far as possible where rain can't reach, and the outdoor power supply should be cut off as much as possible on rainy days to avoid other accidents. 

Keep the socket clean
